JULIE HAGAN, HARDWORKING MOTHER OF TWO

HAIR COLOR
To balance the skin tone I used a soft buttery blonde, paired with a pale sandy blonde which established a natural sun-kissed highlight. Enhancing the dimension with a rich caramel lowlight and a golden beige conditioning color gloss between the foils gave stunning depth to the hair and softened previous summer highlights.

STYLIST SECRET: Lowlights soften the line of demarcation as the hair is growing out and add intense shine to the hair.

HAIR CUT AND STYLE
Taking into consideration this busy mother of two's hectic lifestyle, face shape, and maintenance, I chose the classic bob for her haircut for it's timeless design.

This type of cut works for a number of face shapes and there are multiple versions of this cut that can be created. To allow for versatility in styling, a soft downward angle cut toward the jaw line left enough length to wrap the two longest pieces back to anchor the rest of the hair when she needed it off of her face. Shorter round layers throughout the crown added instant volume and soft graduation in the back allowed for ease when styling.

It was important to teach the client how to duplicate the look at home so I explained my styling techniques to her throughout the entire blow dry. Focusing Kérastase Mousse Nutri-Sculpt on the root area to establish a foundation for the style, follow with Volumactive spray throughout the ends to enhance substance in the hair. Dry the mousse first at the base pushing the roots opposite the way it naturally falls for maximum volume. Next, using a large round brush, dry the hair in sections to polish the ends.

STYLIST SECRET: For optimal results, the section of hair should be no larger than the round brush is wide. For polished ends, heat the section up on the brush until it is dry and roll the section in the direction that you want it to fall. Remove the heat source from the hair but leave the brush in for a few seconds to set in the style and use your cool shot button to go back over the section a few times. As you pull the brush out, spin it to smooth down cuticles.
