Runway to real life. Style is back in style

There is something fresh and magical about the changing seasons. Whether it’s the smell in the air or the surge in barometric pressure, something happens to us. Fashion mags flash us all winter with airy flowing fabrics that tease with fantasies of that first break in weather when our boots and tights-bound legs feel air and sunshine for the first time in months. What we see on the runway overflows into real life where we see not only a change in clothes and accessories, but hair and makeup as well. After a long hot stretch of light, loose clothes, beachy hair and a lot of self tanner, its exciting and slightly comforting to see tailored coats, sophisticated sweater dresses, and, yes, tights and boots. From rich colors to luxurious fabrics, fashion week fall 07 did not disappoint. Everything seems to be more polished and a little classier than seasons past, and as always, hair follows suit. Sleek ponies and gorgeous blow-dries dominated the catwalks from classic lines like Michael Kors and Calvin Klein, to quirkier lines like Betsey Johnson and Custo Barcelona, one thing is certain, fall is bringing sexy back. But in an edgier and more ladylike way than fleshy, shiny summer brings. We see the cleaner lines and slightly vintage feel of the clothes translated into hair with more precision.

From edgy twiggy inspired pixies and asymmetrical bobs, to long and sleek with a center part or heavy blunt bangs, style is back in style again. Icey, nordic blondes, cocoa and dark chocolate browns, and reds ranging from berry to merlot, are the perfect compliment to fall’s cool color palate. Ask your stylist for a cherry or plum colorshine. This is a great way to update your style without the commitment of a permanent color. The results are body and shine that your new, possibly hot-rolled hair need to keep that glossy swing going all winter long. Throw in a berry stained set of lips and a sinfully dark nail polish to look like you just strutted off the runway.
