Reasonably Green

After the last issue of Soda Mag we received a heartfelt email from Stephanie Evans. Stephanie wanted to nominate her friend Kathy Smith for a Soda Makeover. From her letter, we knew that we had the perfect and deserving candidate.

Kathy Smith is the wife of a hardworking firefighter and paramedic and a mother of three children. She is also in nursing school full-time and works part-time. It was obvious to us that her demanding schedule doesn’t leave much room for some much deserved "Kathy-time."
As Stephanie stated in her nomination, “With all these demands, Kathy never complains and constantly tells me how blessed she is to have such a great life. She has such a positive outlook on everything and because of this — helps everyone she can.” And Soda was grateful to be able to makeover such a deserving and appreciative, hard-working mother of three.

Nominate.

HAIRCUT AND STYLE
Kathy is trying to grow out her hair and desired a low maintenance hairstyle that would allow her to manage the growth process without any fuss. I thought she had too many layers in the back and not enough details in the front ot frame her face.

With the haircut, we decided to bring up the back hairline to make her layers appear less drastic and give her a better profile. We softened her fringe and cut it a soft angle to frame her face shape. To give her hair more movement, we used a dry-cutting method. This method gives the hair less of a solid appearance.
