When/How did you get started painting? 1992 was the year I began to express my vision as a painter. Before that, I was painting cartoon characters on peoples clothes, so I guess it began about two years prior. Initially, I began painting for the money, and to become popular, in the ghetto high school I was attending. It saved me from ass kickings and I also received cool points for being able to draw well, but it also had it disadvantages. Are you exclusively a painter? I produce work in other mediums as well, thus the title of my business |
75mixedmedium. I am an artist of all trades but produce more painting than anything. However, I will be releasing a series of photography pretty soon. How would you describe your current work? I am producing my best work at this moment, but I feel I have yet to reach my peak. I have a ways to go. What inspires your work or you in general? My work is inspired by colors, composition, abstraction as well as people’s response to the work. |

Where can we see your work? 75mixedmedium.com, Soda, Domus International Design Center, House of Color Gallery, Dallas Contemporary. How do you see the trends in the art-world evolving? Dirty words starting with F and BS and D. What WE may be surprised to know about? I'm working on a storyboard for a film but it may be x-rated so I‘m not gone say much about that. I have some photos that will be published soon, and my poodle and cat had a baby pitten or cuppy whatever you wanna call it. |
How can the public support original art while the trend is for mass-production work in Ikea, target, etc? Get off their rectums and go to shows or artist markets and talk to artists, because that’s how you get original art. When you go to an artist’s studio or show have a price already in mind to offer the artist. I prefer to sell work to people that want the work and are willing to understand the investment that goes into purchasing original work. So if you don’t have enough money, offer what you got , because it lets the artist know you do want the work. But go to IKEA because I want to have work there too. |
