Soda Salon hits the runway at Olympus Fashion Week.
Fresh from working behind-the-scenes at the Micheal Kors show at New York’s Olympus Fashion Week, Erin Richardson of Atlanta, Ga.'s award-winning Soda Salon dishes the inside scoop on what celebs rallied for Kors, the looks that hit the runway, and the vibe backstage. Chosen to work as part of Orlando Pita’s team (Clients include: Madonna, Julia Roberts, Kirsten Dunst, Gwyneth Paltrow), Richardson helped pull off Kors’ vision for Fall 2006 – a blend of the romantic elegance of Gatsby mixed with collegiate chic of The Graduate.

“Usually backstage is somewhat chaotic, but Orlando immediately set the tone with his laid-back attitude. It was relatively quiet and things really didn’t get hectic until the last minute. It was clear that Orlando’s team is used to working with each other,” said Richardson immediately after the show. “It was an incredible experience and we had a lot of fun.”

72 models, some as young as 14 years old, hit the runway this morning, many doused in navy and charcoal that played off black. Other themes included: blanket plaid, opaque legs, wristlets and oversized hobos, rugby stripes, couture velvet, reconfiguration of the classics, lean vs. oversize and nude makeup with beige lips and daring shimmer on the cheeks. Models wore messy hair, long and parted down the middle, for an undone and low maintenance look.

“It was signature Kors. American, sleek and sophisticated. It felt very 60’s prep school along with looks that were a throwback to 30’s classics,” adds Richardson.
